Reduce pool temperature
Turning down the temperature on your pool heater will significantly decrease the amount of energy you use to keep your pool warm.
How it works:
For typical pool activity, temperatures can range from 25°C to 28°C. A pool heated to 30°C consumes almost twice as much energy as a pool at 26°C. Allow the pool temperature to drop when not in use or turn of the heater if you go away for extended periods. When your pool is not in use , cover it to reduce evaporation and heat loss. Pool covers can save of to 50% of energy consumption. Good to know:
If you have a natural gas pool/hot tub heater, be sure to turn it off if you won't be using it for several days. These heaters are most efficient when quickly heating pools for short periods of time.
